JSA Constitution
Organization Name: Japanese Student Organization (JSA)
- Mission of the JSA
- The purpose of JSA is to contribute to diversity at the University of Arkansas by creating opportunities where students, faculty, and guests can learn Japanese culture.
- In order to achieve our goal, we plan and carry out events introducing Japanese culture from various perspectives.
- Along with our primary objectives, we are committed to providing support to our members so that they can interact with the Northwest Arkansas community through Japanese culture.
- Membership and Eligibility Requirements
- We expect our members to be committed to the JSA primary mission stated above. Thus we strongly encourage members to join JSA events not only as visitors but also as volunteers.
- Members are strongly encouraged to attend each general meeting so that they will be informed about upcoming events. If a member cannot attend a meeting, he or she should send an e-mail to the president. This procedure is necessary for JSA to know the number of active members.
- Members are expected to check their e-mail for announcements from JSA.
- Repeated meeting absences without notice and no participation in any JSA events during a semester may result in loss of JSA membership.
- Repeated behavior which offenses others and makes others feel uncomfortable may result in loss of JSA membership.
- Structure of JSA
- JSA consists of officers, advisers, members, and a cooking team.
- Officers currently consist of President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, Event coordinator, Webmaster, Public Relations Officer, and Chief Editor.
- Officers are responsible for considering members' opinions and requests and carrying out their ideas into action.
